What about HONDA Dio? is ita good scooter?

Q: Plz tell me abt the bike, I want to know abt this bike,is it a cool & good bike? if any one using it advise me.
(2011-12-31 09:28:26)

A: You can buy HONDA automobile products without asking anybody they the very best.

How to determine a used car is certified and e-tested?

Q: Will it show on the car history? (Carfax, Carproof, etc.)
If the vehicle is not certified or e-tested, how do you do it yourself?
What I meant was "Are there any documents that show whether a used car is certified and e-tested or not". If a car is posted as certified and e-tested, there has to be some sort of document for the buyer to confirm this right? Or are we simply supposed to take the dealership's word for it?
(2011-12-25 19:58:04)

A: The dealership will advertise it as a "certified pre owned" vehicle, as long as it fits their mileage and age requirements which differ depending on the automaker.

Also, a dealership can only certify their own brand of cars. For instance, a BMW dealer can not "certify" an Acura, and a Toyota dealership can not "certify" a Honda.

Can I use transmission fluid in power steering?

Q:
(2011-12-25 15:19:29)

A: On a Honda or Acura vehicle, you have to use the factory fill power steering fluid. Ford uses trans fluid in their power steering pumps.

How does it feel pulling a cargo trailer behind your motorcycle?

Q: Do you feel any pull? Does the motorcycle steer and lean properly?

This is what I mean if 'cargo trailer' is not understood.
http://www.racewayservices.com/raceway/images/enfield/inder_trailer_lg.jpg
(2011-12-30 18:23:29)

A: I pull a trailer behind my 1800 Honda Goldwing.
Pulls beautifully. Great on the highway. Hardly know it's there, which can get one into trouble. With the extra weight, I ride a bit more deliberately. Bike leans properly. I feel the weight when I am braking. I am extra careful when I say pull into a gas station.
I cannot pack light, nor can my rear seater, hence the need for a trailer.

Fusion, Sonata, Malibu or . . .?

Q: Ok, so I travel for work. I usually drive, because my pay plan pays more when I do. I have driven my loaded out Z71 for the last few years, but I'm finally coming to my senses. I want to buy a decent car to travel around the country, something comfortable, looks good, and gets good mileage. I am not a car person at all, I've always had a truck or nice SUV. What kind of car do you think I should get? . .
. . .

Can a Honda Accord 2003 EX make it past 300k miles or 20 years of driving if treated very well?

Q: all maintenance, always careful driving, no accidents.

Right now it is a 2003 and has 120k miles, would it make it to the 300k miles or 20 years?
(2011-12-30 03:09:12)

A: The Honda Accord which has been included in Car & Driver's 10-best list 10+ times IS a reliable and dependable car. Of course, it depends on how it is used and taken cared of.
I have a 98 Honda Accord EX 4-cyl. It has 250,000k miles already and still runs great. of course, there are certain mechanical parts that needs to be replaced due to wear and tear. I had the transmission rebuilt and batteries replaced. But other than that, it still has the original engine and chassis. I've been replacing the brake pads/rotors/oils myself and follow the manufacturer's recommended service.
So my car is a testament to how long an accord will last.
I plan on getting to 500,000k miles. It's a tall order but the way my car is running...I believe it will last that long.

True or False? You've Been on a Motorbike Before?

Q: True for me! I went on one for the first time four months ago and loved it! :D
(2011-12-30 22:03:46)

A: Good for you! Just be safe. I've had three bikes, the last was a six cylinder monster Honda. I've never hurt myself on one but I was very careful.

Cheap, but fast and well handling cars?

Q: I currently have a 2005 Mini Cooper S.
It handles amazingly and is quick, but it's time for a change.

I'll sell the car for about £5000, but I only want to spend £3000 on my next one £3500 at the most.
So what would you recommend that's quick and handles well?
(2011-12-24 14:13:49)

A: acura integra, volkswagen golf

i have a 1998 golf. Even with your average all season tires, i like the handling of it.

Manual 98 Acura Integra LS with 206k miles. What would you recommend for an engine swap?

Q: I'm about to buy an Integra with 206k miles and I'd like to swap out the engine because I don't trust those miles. The car will probably give out right off the lot. So any suggestions? Also I live in Florida so nothing that won't pass the emissions test please. Thanks!
I don't really have a budget. I'm mean I'll save whatever amount is needed to get the best bang for my buck.
(2011-12-30 06:58:28)

A: It'd help a lot to know what kind of budget you're working with...personally i would go with a B18C5 out of the ITR, one of my favorite motors honda has ever made, rev's to the heavens and has near unlimited different ways you can build it because the aftermarket support is so heavy.

The K20 motors aren't bad, but to me, don't deliver the kind of experience i expect out of a high strung VTEC motor, almost as if they are muzzled a bit, but they still provide a good amount of power and the also make for a great platform for future mods.

2008 Acura TL, Is this one a good buy?

Q: Has about 75,000 miles on it, selling out for $15,000. Reliable car? I know honda makes Acura and Hondas are extremely reliable cars.
(2011-12-24 09:37:37)

A: It's a great price for a well maintained TL, but you'll have to do research with the owner and the records specific to the car to be able to know if that's the case. Speaking generically though, that is a fine price and 75k is good mileage for a car approaching 5 years old (from the time is was manufactured).

They are very reliable, again, if properly maintained. Being a Honda these days doesn't exactly define a reliable car, they've had quite a bit of lack luster longevity out of their cars starting with model year 2000 (especially in the transmission category), but that said, as far as i know, from late 2004 on, most of those transmission problems were rectified and resolved, and on a car as late a model as 2008, i would guess even early generation gremlins in any car would have been worked out, since at 2008, this generation TL is on its 4th production year.

Check the papers, check the history and call the dealer where service was done just to see what they have to say...for $15,000, i would also have a Honda/Acura certified PPI done (pre purchase inspection), would probably cost you $75-$100, but its worth it in the long run.

Is this a reasonable price for an acura?

Q: My car mechanic also sells used car. I bought a 1996 Acura RL with 298,000km on it. I bought it for $3000.00

Kellybook says the car worth around $4000-$5000. Why did he sell if for so low? Could there be problems with it? Or because of the high kms?
(2011-12-24 10:23:34)

A: Not sure what Henry is going on about...that is about right with that mileage for that generation Acura RL. Those cars have a history of transmission woes so keep an eye on any slipping or rough shifting between gears, and also electrical gremlins (but nothing substantial).

For reference (note this is a US domestic model)...this one is right around the same price with less mileage. There were 5 more between $3000-$4500 with just a quick search on craigslist.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/2764113237.html

Do you think Acura's generally last as long as a Honda?

Q: Since they are basically a Honda? I drive an Integra and I love it.
(2011-12-24 12:22:24)

A: Yes, it's really the same car underneath. I had an Acura that I totally loved. It was destroyed in a rear-ender with 157,000 miles on it, and the engine was like brand new. I would still be driving that car today!

2010-2011 honda cr-v recall?

Q: has anyone else gotten a notice about a "product update"? something about updating software for fuel injector and vtc timing-cuz it leaves deposits on oil rings??--"update the powertrain control module software"

I can't find anything online about it--how soon do you have to get it taken care of? does it really take half a day to update software?? any info would be appreciated!
(2011-12-29 05:47:17)

A: The update changes the timing under certain conditions to reduce the chance of deposits forming on the pistons. This update is to stop oil consumption issues that Honda has been having with this engine in both Honda vehicles and Acura TSX's. When Honda sends out a campaign letter to customers, they always put that it takes 1/2 a day to do it. In actuality, it takes less than 10 minutes for this software update.

can any one tells me that what is i-VTEC engine?

Q:
(2011-12-28 22:53:41)

A: The i stands for intelligent : i-VTEC is intelligent-VTEC. (Variable Valve Timing Engine Control) is a valvetrain system developed by Honda to improve the volumetric efficiency of a four-stroke internal combustion engine. Honda introduced many new innovations in i-VTEC, but the most significant one is the addition of a variable valve opening overlap mechanism to the VTEC system.

Compatible engines that will fit a 95 civic ?

Q: How's it goin.

I have a 95 civic dx coupe with a d15b7 non vtec that blew out and I'm looking to replace. My car Is automatic and I would like to keep it auto. Was wondering what engine would be an upgrade from the d15b7. I would like to keep the stock tranny also. Help?
(2011-12-29 03:21:32)

A: what type of upgrade are you looking for people always says bigger engine but not always true if you want gas and a somewhat power go with your d15b7 again if you want to go with more power and less gas then go b series just keep in your mind that its a honda and you can put a d16z6 vtec to a k20 there are so many things depends on what you want to do if you want to keep your same tranny go with a d series

Private party sale, after 2 days the car overheated, buyer wants a refund, what is my rights?

Q: Hello!
Private party sale.
I have sold a car to a local person 2 days ago. It's a 1991' Acura Legend - Clean title car with 150k miles in good mechanical condition, passed a California test only - smog check just a day before the car was sold. The car did run perfect, with not known any issues to my knowledge.
Previously i had changed timing belt, water pump - did complete major tune up and have told the buyer about it.
They test drove it, they love it , the car runs perfect and after i gave them pink slip and got paid in full, they drove it away. There was no contract sigh it, no bill of sale, i didn't promise any warranties , the sale was just as is. Basically they gave me the money - i gave them a title and they are gone.
2 days later, they called me, because the gas gauge stop working and they run out of gas, good thing there was a gas station around the corner, so there wasn't a big issue, they fill up the car, i did apologies to them. Couple hours later, they calling again - this time the car got overheated !?!? Now they want the money back ...
I mean, the car was in good running/ mechanical condition, just passed smog inspection with no problem. Do i have the rights to refuse refund the money ? In my understanding, once they bought a car, it becomes there property with any future repairs or problems ? Does anyone know, whats the California law about this situation ? Any help will be appreciated!!!
(2011-12-29 21:35:18)

A: you must refuse them. Because they have cheked and also have a test drive before buy. They can do nothing to you. i think they have not drive the car properly . I also have a ACURA Legend 1992 3200 cc and thats run well. Its maintanance is very much costly but long lasting. My car is also sensetive as your one. i have also faced the problem like you but now its ok. I think they drive it roughly so overheat occurs. You persue them about their fault. You can give good suggestion to repair your car. Old car means there must have some problems but buyers must chek it before they buy it.
Thanks.

Civic mt or Corolla mt?

Q: Hi guys, I'm looking for a new Corolla or Civic, and I'm definitely getting a manual because I really don't like the 4 spd auto of Corolla and the fake 5 spd auto (it's just a 4 spd auto plus a ultra low ratio 5th gear) of Civic. So I kinda need your opinions about which one of them is better to drive? Thx
(2011-12-28 19:55:56)

A: If you want a stick shift because the automatics aren't fun to drive, the Civic is by far the sportier of the two. Honda manual transmissions are also well-known for having very easy clutches.

If you can swing the payments, the 6-speed in the Civic Si is probably the best. I wouldn't even be considering the Corolla though - I'd be cross-shopping the Mazda 3 with the new SkyActiv engine against the Civic.

2008 honda element radio code?

Q: i just bought my element 2 days ago. got in this morning and the radio screen reads "code." i read in the owners manual that this happens when the battery dies, is disconnected or the fuse is removed. none of these things happened. any ideas? on top of it, the radio code isn't in the owners manual and i don't have the previous owners zip code/phone number to retrieve it. awesome!
(2011-12-28 06:34:41)

A: I work at a Honda dealership, so I believe I can help.

Believe me when I say that there is no way to retrieve a radio code using the VIN number. This is a misconception many people share. If the radio code is not in the manuals that came with the car, you will have to go to a Honda Dealership.

Can you just call them and ask? No. Honda employees, are not allowed to give radio codes over the phone, for obvious reasons. So you will have to drive to the dealer and present proof of ownership (insurance card, title).

Once there the Honda Service employee will have to find the radio code using the serial number on the radio. The serial number can sometimes be found inside the glove box on some models. However, if it's not in there, a technician will have to pull out the radio and get the number from it. At the dealer I work in, we do not charge for this service.

Once they have the serial number they will input in the Honda IN and presto! The Honda network will display your radio code. Afterwards, simply start the car and using the presets, input the code.

Hope I helped! : )

What is a good sport bike for me?

Q: Alright so here's the thing, im turning 17 and i want a red sport bike. The problem is i have no idea what kind. I want something that would be like if somebody sees it they would be like 0.o dang ! that kind of thing and also something that wont burn my daddy's wallet. Any ideas? I need something that is easy to learn and safe. I don't want to die. It needs to be something that gets every body's attention. And i don't want a pathetic sissy girl motorcycle either.
Any ideas?
Thanks
(2011-12-28 21:53:37)

A: During this time, you'd be able to find a used bike for cheap. There are lots of riders, but there also a lot of "seasoned" riders. They get the motorcycle craving and buy a bike in the summer and then sell it during the winter.

This is good because most used bikes for sale have little mileage. Look on craigslist. You can easily get a new "used" bike for around $5,000.

A bike I would recommend is the Honda CBR600RR. I currently own the 2007 model. It is fast, sleek, comfortable and like any bike, it is good on gas.

What to name my Anime character?

Q: I'm wondering about some names for my character so here is a description below:
He has dark brown hair and blue eyes and his attire mostly consist of wearing Hoodies and jeans if no stripped shorts & silver tennis shoes.
He is somewhat mysterious and quiet but if you're on his good side he'll be your best friend and he carries around a metal baseball bat with spikes on it.
Average height and somewhat muscular

[The storyline me and my friends are aiming for is kind of like a journey while fighting off monsters, infected classmates almost like a infection breakout]

So what comes to mind in names?
(2011-12-27 22:41:13)

A: heres my suggestions :

Leo
Hiroto
Waru (Japanese : Evil)
Tsukiyomi
Reo (XD)
Kiku
Honda
Kai
Kei
Jun

I want a bmw 335 or 330?

Q: Hey guys I'm 21 years old and I found the two models if the BMW quite interesting. I was just trying to get some feed back on how these two perform. And is there a body style difference between the 525 series and the 330/335? And I was looking to start off with a 2003/2004 BMW with 70,000. Is this good for this car?
(2011-12-28 05:02:11)

A: Let's start with your first question...there is a SUBSTANTIAL difference in performance between the 330i and 335i, especially if you're talking the same generation (which would have only been the first year of production on the E90 chassis to find a 330i, since they only made it for one model year on the E90). MAJOR horsepower difference between the two cars (the 330i was the entry level car, the 335 was basically the lead in to an M3, with twin turbos and sport tuned...well...everything!).

Comparing the two performance wise would literally be like comparing a Honda Accord to an Honda S2000.

The second question about the difference between those cars and the 525 as far as body style goes is another substantial difference, two totally different classes of cars, sport coupe/sedans vs. mid range luxury sedan. Major differences...lol.

Im not sure what you mean by your last question, 70,000 what? Miles? Dollars? I would guess you're referring to mileage, and in that, i don't think you'll have a problem finding a car with that kind of mileage, you just have to figure out what kind of budget you have to work with and go from there.

FYI...insurance on a 335i at your age is going to be absurdly high, especially on a coupe variant.

@Puterfixer...good points all around, at 21, i would have killed myself with a car with the power and handling ability of the 335i.

which bike is perfect for a begginer...with no experience at all?

Q: serious answers plz..ty
i forgot to mention...a sportbike :)
(2011-12-28 12:05:17)

A: I started off on a Kawasaki Ninja 250. Great little bike, excellent gas mileage. You don't completely get pissed if you drop it (since it's not worth THAT much). I've heard rumors of Honda providing a 250 sportbike in the US, but I'm not for sure on that yet. If you're a little more heavy set (200lbs or more), you might want to try a kawasaki ninja 500 or suzuki gs500.

Amazing, Not-So Popular, Good Artwork Japanese Romance Manga?

Q: Amazing, Not-So Popular, Good Artwork Japanese Romance Manga?
Ok, Im looking for a cute romance manga that isnt very common but good art and story.....................and nothing mature and the girl as main character
please suggest more than 1
(2011-12-26 19:18:31)

A: well I don't know if this is too mature for your tastes, but there is a manga called "Peach Girl" which was also made into a anime adaptation (if you would prefer to watch than read). I think it is very amazing andthe art work in the manga is very good, the anime artwork kind of takes away the "amazing" factor though...it isn't SUPER well known like bleach, naruto, death note, higurashi, etc, but it is fairly popular. the main character is in fact, a girl. ^_^ here's the plot from wikipedia, since I am not so good at explaining.
Peach Girl is a high school drama centered on Momo Adachi. A former member of the swim team, Momo tans easily and her hair is bleached out; unfortunately, she is stereotyped by her ignorant classmates, and is forced to endure rumors about being an "easy girl" that has had many sexual relationships. Her only friend is Sae, who is actually responsible for spreading the nasty gossip due to her jealousy of Momo. Momo is in love with Toji, a taciturn baseball player, but the scheming Sae also has her sights set on the boy. Momo's life is further complicated with the introduction of Kairi Okayasu, a wise-cracking playboy who is determined to make her his. He reveals to Momo that she had saved him from drowning the summer before high school started.

Things become even more complicated when Sae, in an attempt to make Momo miserable, spreads rumors about Momo and Kairi making out. The rumor about the kiss between the two is true, but it was Kairi who initiated it while Momo remained stunned by the interaction. When Toji is hospitalized, Sae convinces Toji to break up with Momo. They soon get back together, but Sae later tries to make their relationship complicated again by threatening to discredit Momo with her newly acquired access to the mass media. Though Toji is defiant to begin with, he reluctantly breaks up with Momo in order to protect her. Momo is heartbroken at first, particularly due to not knowing it is part of Sae's schemes. However, she eventually begins dating Kairi, whom she had previously considered annoying, and soon begins to fall in love with him.

When it is revealed to Momo why Toji broke up with her, Momo is left to choose between Toji and Kairi. More problems arise and the love triangle intensifies.

In "Sae's Story", Sae is left back a year, for she always was skipping classes. She is too stubborn so she goes to Momo's and Kairi's university every day. Toji goes to a good university by himself. Sae then meets one of her childhood sweethearts, Kanji (or Monkey Boy), who left for Malaysia when they were young, and promised to marry Sae when he was back. In love with Sae, Kanji follows her around, trying to win Sae back over. He also takes care of Sae's dog, Sora, when her parents would no longer let her keep it. The dog walks with a little limp, as one day when the dog tried to follow Sae, she threw a rock at its paw and injured it. Sae starts modeling and pretends she goes to college with Momo, when she is really still in high school. She meets Honda and works for CC as a model. She meets a guy named Takuma, but he later turns her down. Sae later meets another guy named Shinji, but realizes he never really liked her. All these ups and downs make Sae realize that Momo, Kairi, and Kanji are the only people that actually care for her.

Best car to get for touring car racing?

Q: Whats the best car under 40k to turn into a touring car?
(2011-12-26 18:47:35)

A: Like the fellow above said,it depends on your category. For DTM,I`d go a 1996 AMG Mercedes, for BTCC I`d go for a BMW 320 or a Honda Integra.Remember though, whatever format you choose,be prepared to shell out big bucks to modify it to touring car standards.A better idea would be to buy one that`s already a touring car.

why is there a difference in price(Rs.100000) between ninja 250r and honda cbr 250r in India?

Q: whereas in the US it is just $450 which is roughly a little more than Rs.20000
(2011-12-26 04:44:02)

A: Honda CBR250R is fully made in India thats why it is priced so low...India & Thailand r the main manufacturing areas exporting CBR250R to the entire world...as u said Ninja 250R & CBR250R have almost same prices in US...While CBR250R is fully made in India...Ninja 250R parts r imported & just assembled here...Next year onwards Ninja 250R will be fully made in India just like KTM Duke 200....The price will fall dramtically...may be even less than CBR250R...so wait till 2012 model of Ninja 250R...

Does having a really expensive car means "small d**k"?

Q: Because I knew someone who had a Dodge Viper SRT-10 that was worth $90K. And one time during a traffic stop, a couple in a Honda civic were looking at his car and the guy told him in a mocking manner "Sorry about your small d**k!" and he responded after looking at the Civic "Sorry about your small income!"
(2011-12-26 12:07:52)

A: Well I don't know if there is any correlation of statistically significant data but just the other day I saw a bumper sticker on the back of an old Honda Civic that said, "Nice truck, sorry about your small penis." I always thought the joke was that if you have a big car you have a small wiener but these are just cruel jokes.

What are some good Luxury SUV Hybrids I should look into buying?

Q: I want to buy a new SUV and would prefer if it was a better brand like Lexus, Mercedes, etc.., but a hybrid.
The problem is that I have limited car knowledge and I wouldnt know how to compare them. I already have some in mind: Lexus RX and the Audi Q5. Anny suggestions? I'm open to some other cars too if anyone knows any.
(2011-12-26 15:51:16)

A: Skip the Audi, horrible reliability, and expensive to upkeep. The Lexus has good reliability, but is also expensive to upkeep. The best all around SUV is the Acura MDX, newer models.

what is a good 1st bike for me?

Q: OK so i'm looking to get my 1st bike soon and would like some help on what to get. I am 21 soon to be 22 and for my age i,m really mature. I absolutely do NOT want a super sport i think if you get one as a 1st bike you are a stupid fool who wants to die. I have been really looking at the ninja 250r and cbr 250r as a 1st bike because as a beginner they are a perfect for those who mostly do city driving. I live way out in the back woods and to get into the city iv'e got to drive an hour or so mostly interstate or highway with high speed limits. I am also going to be moving back to florida ( a 11 hour and 700 miles trip) some time in the 1st half of next year and will be riding what ever bike a buy home because i currently don't own a car.

Now for my 1st bike I really need a good all purpose bike that can handle all my needs as well as handle the interstate no problem. I am also very cautious driver and don't fuck around while i'm driving. I believe I can safely handle a bigger bike because I do have a little experience on a cbr600rr when i was 16 my buddy would let me ride his bike to the gas station like a block from his house.
As far as i'm concerned i'm a total noob. since i live in LA (state) i have to take the MSF class to get my endorsement so I will have some training before buying my bike.

Now as for my specs I'm 5'9" tall and weigh 201 ( i know am kinda fat can't be helped I had surgery over the summer and gained a ton of weight)

The 250cc bikes from what iv'e heard don't have enough power to ride on the interstate for long periods of time. plus i don't want to grow tired of it and upgrade to a bigger bike in half a year. I'm no ruling the 250cc bikes out yet because of the ease of use and how noob friendly they are.

now ive been looking at a brand new 2009 ninja 500r that's for sale for a little under $4,000 and I think it looks old and don't care for the looks but its double the bike of the ninja 250r and i'm sure it would handle the interstate better than the 250r.

i have been also looking at a 2010 ninja 650r for sale its brand new and and is very low miles and is for sale for $6,000 which im sure i can talk them down some on the price cause where i live no one wants a sport bike. I really like this bike and from what i heard it would make a great 1st bike and handle the interstate no problem. Also from what iv'e been hearing is that it is a good 1st bike because it is a great all around bike and can handle the interstate all day long no problem

these are the 3 sport bikes I was looking at and from what iv'e heard insurance isn't to bad on them. I'm open to a standard bike or cruiser but would prefer a sport bike. I also don't want any thing to old because I want a bike I can have for at least 2 years.

I know iv'e written allot but if you could help me focus in on the bike that's right for me because right now i'm all over the place on what I want and not on what is right for me.

a little recap of what im looking for:
something beginner friendly
probably 08+
prefer sport bike but would be open to a standard or cruiser
good on the interstate
good for long drives
wont blow the bank on insurance
something that I can ride for years and wont be disappointed in
alright so iv'e looked up allot of the bike you guys mentioned and well i live in a dead zone for sport bikes almost nothing within 50 miles of me. the few i found were to high millage for the price they want. so for a sport bike i'm going to be limited to new bikes. I did find some great deals on a couple of ninja 650r, a ninja 500r and a cbr250r.

now i'm not that into standard bikes but after looking up the new 2012 honda rebel i'm seriously considering it in fact i would say its my front runner right now here is why. 1. the motorcycle dealer has them on sale brand new for almost $800 under msrp. 2. it looks amazing in the mate silver I mean wow the thing looks great. 3. from what iv'e heard you cant find a better beginner bike. 4. insurance for it is by far the cheapest of any bike which is a serious plus. 5. It gets the highest gas millage of any bike iv'e seen at 84 mpg!!!! 6. iv'e been looking around and everyone says it can handle the freeway all da
wtf it cut off my additional details so ill start from 6. iv'e been looking around and everyone says it can handle the freeway all day long and a guy on youtube who had a rebel with a windscreen said it can cruise at 80 all day no problem and he still has plenty of power to pass on the freeway when needed he said his bike was stock other than the windscreen.

what do you guys think of the rebel can it handle my height and weight will it give me everything i'm looking for out of a bike. I'm not a cruiser or standard fan but that's for looks because right now as a beginner i don't really know what i like.

A: The first thing you need to do is take a few motorcycle lessons because you will NOT be safe unless you have been trained in basic road safety.

The Ninja 250 will do the job but I think you should look at something bigger; 500cc or more with a full fairing. If you can handle the weight of a big bike comfortably (it's surprising more people don't drop them, some of them are seriously heavy) then take a look at sports-tourers. My top choices would be the indestructible Honda VFR 800, the ancient but super-comfortable Yamaha FJ 1200 or the amazingly cheap all-rounder Suzuki GSX 750 F.

What dirt bike should I get?

Q: I honestly know nothing about dirt bikes. I use them at horse shows to get around the show grounds and that's it so I need some help please! I used to use a small red one that was kick start and I had to shift it into gear...that's called manual right? Anyway I don't know how many CC's it was

It doesn't need to be street legal but it needs to be able to carry a minimum of 250lbs (sometimes me and another person ride it at the sametime)

Thank you for all your help!! I'm not looking for anything fancy or the fastest one either
(2011-12-26 15:02:49)

A: a honda crf230 is perfect not a 2 stroke its a trail bike so hardly needs to be maintained and its manual

Why does my car keep overheating !?!?!?

Q: There is no leak. I just got a new thermostat and new radiator. Took it to the shop many times. They say it is fixed but i test drive it and it heats up again. Really fed up with going to that place again. It heats up when I turn on the heater and also the cooling fans don't come on when they're suppose too. Please help I can not figure out the problem. Also ran a compression test and everything is also fine on that. The car is a 2002 Honda Civic Lx with 202K miles.
(2011-12-27 00:47:26)

A: Believe it or not, the usual cause is the trapped bug bodies, animal droppings, leaves, seedlings and other contaminates that are sandwiched BETWEEN your radiator and your A/C condenser. Unless your radaitor changer was extremely fastidious, there proabaly is STILL a huge collection of things trapped in this space. POWER WASHing this will help things out for you, ANYWAYS. Your engine REQUIRES the exclusive use of genuine HONDA only COOLANT to achieve maximum engine cooling and proper heat exchange. Your coolant should be RED, not green. Call several HONDA and Acura dealers to have a proper coolant exchange done. They will use the proper equipment to flush and fill with GENUINR Honda ccolant, and your heater core will be preserved an extra 5 or more years. Since you have ALREADY had your radiator replaced, think about WHY this happened. THe usual reason is the WRONG coolant. If your radiator went out,m there is a VERY good chance that your HEATER core and heater control valve are LOADED with calciium deposits and lime restricting flow. TRUST ME< and use ONLY the genuine Honda product. Anything elas can eat up head gaskets, radiators, heater cores, and rot cylinder alloys. GOOD LUCK!!

AWD Sedans in Southern California?

Q: I currently live in New York City with my wife. We will be moving to the Los Angeles area in the first few months of 2012 (March-April) for my work. However, i'm not sure what to do with our two cars. I currently drive a 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD and my wife currently drives a 2011 Buick LaCrosse AWD. Here in the north east/ tri-state area, AWD sedans come with a premium (about $1,000-$3000 extra) because it is very useful in the winter. I am worried about resale value after moving to Los Angeles because it doesn't snow there. In fact, i'm worried that people WON'T want to buy the cars because the AWD takes more gas when it does come time to sell. (Typically we use our cars for 3-4 years each, but we drive 25k-ish miles each a year so its not practical to lease). I usually end up selling our cars privately to get more money for them. Would you recomend that we sell our cars here in NY where we can get a premium for it. We can both get a rental car until we move (my employer is covering it) or do you think it won't even make a difference in resale value? Do you think i can still get a premium for the AWD, get the same amount as the FWD counterparts, or less money than the FWD counterparts?
(2011-12-27 08:53:24)

A: You're moving to a completely different lifestyle and a different kind of driving environment.

As you noted, AWD sedans are not as popular in Southern California, but they're kind of rare too, and people do buy them if they like to drive up into the mountains to ski during the winter months. Could be a bonus selling it at this time of year. I'd dump the Buick now, before you roll up too may miles on it, but keep the Acura to drive to California. Who knows... You may even need the AWD to get across the mountains on the way.

Once you get to CA you can replace those AWD sedans with a couple of drop top BMWs.

What will be the best tires for my 1997 Honda Accord 4 Dr?

Q: I just bought this car, but it needs new tires on 3 tires it says 235/ 40ZR18 and in only one it says 225/ 40ZR18 what's the difference? Does it really make a difference? I have no clue about cars since this is my first car, please help..
(2011-12-25 22:01:30)

A: Cali,

Great question. Yes, it very much makes a difference. You need to be running the exact same size tire on all four wheels. This is fundamental. Having different sizes are simply not safe, your Honda will not handle and control as it should.

Both sizes you mentioned seem to be improper for a 1997 Honda Accord. Who ever you bought it form placed improper sized tires on the vehicle. If you have 18 inch rims you would be best to select one of the following tire sizes:

205/40-18
215/40-18
225/35-18
235/35-18

What are some good car forums that can help me decide what kind of car I should purchase?

Q: I'm a high school senior who knows little to nothing about cars. I recently got a big fat scholarship, so my father told me I could get a new car for college. Are there any good forums or message boards (other than yahoo answers) that are car oriented and relatively active online? I would like to gather some information and it would really help to have some advice from informed people.

Thanks!
(2011-12-20 20:53:54)

A: It sorta depends on which automaker you're looking at. Mostly all carmakers have some sort of community forum base. Just google it.

for instance, if you're looking at Acura google "Acura forum"
if you're looking at BMW, "BMW forum"

etc

does 2005 acura rl have timing chain?

(2011-12-20 17:38:19)

A: Dude if you really have that much to spend on a car get a honda civic from the 90s or an acura integra. They are lightweight and fun to work with. If you get a hatch then its really fun.

POLL: Can you guess my profile picture without looking it up?

Q: Guess what character it is

A: japan from hetalia! or honda kiku

which sport bike is safe for a starter?

Q: I'm in love with the look and charm of the supersport motorbikes. Those with 600cc or more. However i know they're too vicious for me as my only experience is half hour ridding lesson i got before i got my licence. I'm no speed freak though but i like fast acceleration. Which bike would you recommend me?

P.s. Some experienced people recommended me a motorbike with 2 cylinders to start with.
(2011-12-24 09:55:08)

A: Real sportbikes today are very serious single-purpose machines, almost like racing bikes with license plates. They are really wonderful machines for what they are. They're very popular so all the Japanese makers make one and they upgrade them every year or two to shave off another 5 lbs and add another 5 hp. But they are single-purpose, they sacrifice everything to speed and handling. So they are not the best choice for commuting or long trips or just running down to the grocery store. And they are not easy to ride, not forgiving for beginners. If you really desperately want one of these bikes, you should see it as something to work up to.

It's not the size that's the problem. 600cc is really only medium-sized today, it's not so big or heavy that you can't handle it. It's the kind of bike it is, not the size.

We get these 'first bike' questions here a lot, and lots of people here think you should start on a 250, like the Kawasaki Ninja 250 or Honda CBR 250. Well, a 250 is very light and small and easy to manage, but a 250 can't cruise at highway speeds. So it depends on how you see yourself riding. If you plan to go more than a few miles on highways at high speed, then you want something bigger, 500cc minimum, 600 or 650 would be better. That's a little bigger/heavier than a 250 but not that much.

There are some great 'standard' 600s/650s, general purpose bikes that are good for all-around use, and are easier to ride. Kawasaki Ninja 650, Honda 599, Suzuki GS500 or SV650. They are still sporty enough to be a lot of fun, and enough power to get you into trouble. But 'too much power' is not a problem, you don't have to use it all every second. It's nice to have a little oomph in reserve when you want to pass someone.

2 cylinders vs 4 cylinders is not really that important. Twins have 'character', fours are smoother and more sophisticated. Twins are simpler but as engines get more and more reliable and long-lived, simplicity is no longer as big of an advantage as it used to be. Twins develop torque at the lower RPMs and fours develop horsepower at higher RPMs, so the riding technique is a little different. But that's not a big difference.

I just bought a Range Rover 2005 HSE How long should i wait before i refinance and trade up for a better year?

Q: How should i go about it?
(2011-12-25 09:07:35)

A: You "just" got an 05 and you are thinking of refinancing or trading for a better year. Seems as though you were not financially ready that you ended up with an 05. Anyway it depends on how much you owe, I did mine after a year only because I wanted to shorten the number of years left and my APR from 5% to 1.25%. The Range Rover is such a beautiful machine but very expensive to maintain, you may have bought it cheap but the parts will be very pricey. And may I say that people who buy them are not stupid, we happen to afford them and people here who made comments don't, we happen to have a lifestyle, we can go anywhere on weekends. You people can do the same with your Honda elements, Fords, Lexus vehicle bashers but I am happy with my baby the Range Rover....

If i get a new car, what should I get?

Q: I want something that will cost about $100-200 a month and gets great mileage. NO SUVS. Just 4-door sedans. Thanks Guys!(:
(2011-12-24 22:21:14)

A: Definitely the all-new Chevrolet Cruze, it runs great and looks fantastic. Not to mention it has a lot more space than a Honda Civic, and gets great mileage. The Cruze Eco gets 42 mpg!

The Maintenance Required light is flashing on my 03 acura rsx, what could it be?

Q:
(2011-12-22 22:07:13)

A: Maintenance required light is usualy based on OIL CHANGE issues. actually READ your owner's manual, it will tell you. Drop by an Acura or HONDA dealership, they will reset it for you and tell you EXACTLY what it means. You can start things off by cleaning your THROTTLE BODY and IAC (idle air ontrol) valve. Many jiffy lubes will do this for you. Make them let you WATCH what they are doing! Use only SYNHTETIC engine oil that has the names "HONDA/Acura." right ont he LABEL! All other engine oils will cause premature degradation of timing components and hydraulic engine parts. FORGET the oil offerings at most quicky lubes. Have them SHOW you the name HONDA on the package, or FORGET IT!!!

Why isn't CNG a lot cheaper than Gasoline?

Q: The near month futures contract for natural gas is currently trading for about $3.15/millionBTUs while the price of a gallon of gasoline is trading for about $3.50 in California. The price of CNG in California is about $2.00 per GGE (Gallon of Gasoline Equivalent) which a price ratio of 5/7 for CNG to Gasoline thereby making CNG a little bit cheaper than Gasoline. But since there are only about 125,000 BTUs in a gallon of gasoline shouldn't that mean the price ratio for CNG to Gasoline should be 1/8? The only variable I am not taking into account is how much it costs to refine natural gas and turn it into Compressed Natural Gas but I wouldn't think it would be roughly 5 times the cost of the original commodity itself. Can anyone expain this?
(2011-12-23 09:48:07)

A: Local distribution companies (LDC's) usually hedge their gas purchases for years, so it's quite possible that the cost of gas for the CNG distributor is $5.00/MMBtu, which is $0.63/gge (gallon of gasoline equivalent, which is 126,000 Btu). All the CNG distributor must do is compress the natural gas to 3,600 psi and run it through a desiccant to ensure that it is completely dry. The compressor uses about to 10% of the compressed gas as fuel - so let's round off the fuel cost at $0.70/gge.

Now, a CNG station (compressor, dehydrator, high pressure storage, and dispenser) typically cost $1 million or more. This is where most of the costs are incurred with CNG.

Consider this - if a Honda Civic GX is refueled with 5 gge of CNG every 10 minutes for 12 hours a day & 360 days a year - that's about 130,000 gge of CNG. If after the cost of $0.70/gge is covered, let's say the CNG distributor charged $1.00 more per gge for a total cost of $1.70/gge. The CNG distributor would only make $130,000 annually, which certainly does not provide enough financial return for the CNG station capital cost.

The desired outcome? Dispense a lot more CNG with the existing CNG station. Until the volume is high enough, the fixed costs of the CNG equipment is what drives the cost of CNG.

My Car Engine is smoking Acura 99 TL?

Q: This is my first car ever and it was bought without any research put in because of the urgency of needing a car. Last year my radiator busted and I drove the car for a while causing more damage to it. I had it towed to a mechanic (that charged me close to $1500 for a radiator, somehow that price doesn't look right.) so he said he put a brand new radiator on and brand new radiator hoses and also he charged me another $100 for a engine fan. My engine light has been on since then so just recently I replaced the coils on my spark plugs. When i put them on i didn't have any lube close to the end of the coil where the spark plug slips into i rubbed a little oil on there. I drove it for about a month so far and my engine light is on and off, but now its off and hasn't come back on. So two weeks ago i have been smelling rubber burning smell every time I get through driving. A couple of days ago little smoke was coming out of the engine and then it stopped. Today the smoke is a lot more visible and seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine on the sides where the spark plugs sit. Can anybody assist me with analyzing this problem I am a college student with not a lot of money so I'm all for DIY projects. Thanks in advance.
(2011-12-19 09:53:03)

A: POWER WASH your engine with GUNK orange engine cleaner spray. SOunds like you have leaking VALVE COVER gaskets. Most times, they ONLY need to be tightened. Once your wengine is CLEAN, a quicky lube can examine from underneath and inform you of other leaking points. You got BURNED REAL GOOD on the radiator issue!!1 So SORRY!! These engines REQUIRE the use of genuine HONDA/Acura coolant ONLY! All othere coolants will rot the head gaskets and the cylinder head itslef over time. I have seen this at lesat dozen times in the past. NO GREEN COOLANT!!! Improper engine oil will cause VC gasket failure. READ your owner's manual!!! Only oils that state on the lable "made for use in Honda/Acura," should EVER be used in there!!! THe fact thst you have had cooling system trouble makes me BELIEVE that the previous owner did NOT use the right coolant. TRUST ME< I KNOW!!! ANy competent oil change tech can tighten and fix the oil leakage. You can supply a new VC gasket from the DEALERSHIP parts department. START USING THE CORRECT ENGINE OIL!!!

Are integra gsr automatic rare?

Q: Because I have a 96 acura integra special addition and I got an engine swap and i think it is a gsr. It got faster and i was reading about the gsr and is has a lot of commonalities.
(2011-12-19 07:45:56)

A: Actually...what you guys are saying isn't 100% true. The Acura Integra DID offer the B18C1 motor with an automatic transmission in the US market, but it was specific to the 4-door model and was not referenced as a "GS-R", but simply an Integra "Limited" and was identified by a "DOHC VTEC" badge on the rear trunk lid.

Again, this is not a "GS-R" technically, but it does have the same motor and COULD HAVE come with the automatic option (that was offered from the dealer). Finding it with an automatic though, that could prove to be quite a test, as I'm guessing 99.999999999% of the people who opted for this almost certainly got it with the 5-speed manual.

Stolen car keys, need help?

Q: someone stole my car keys and wallet so they have my address and the key to my car and my dads since i had his spares, we already changed the ignition key and got an alarm for my car, so basically the people can get in my car but cant start it and the alarm will go off, but we haven't don't anything for my dads so my question is since were tight on money right now which would be safer get an alarm and leave the key locks as is or don't get an alarm and change the ignition key? much help would be appreciated
(2011-12-19 03:23:44)

A: An alarm will help, not only for this incident but for the future.

My son put an alarm in his Acura and put the siren under the driver's seat. Other cars can be burglarized with the alarm blaring, but not his.

what is the code for my 98 acura integra stereo?

Q:
(2011-12-18 17:12:22)

A: It's a security code so if it's stolen, that person cannot use it. You need to go to an Acura dealer with proof of ownership.

Which car owners drive like aHoles the most?

Q: From my personal experience It has to be the girls in the teens in the 20year old Honda Civic, CRX's etc. Also teen girls in VW's. I also hear 350z drivers are aHoles but I never really come across them to know for myself
(2011-12-23 13:37:33)

A: people who think that their cheap cars are high class luxury cars.
lexus, acura

do you have a car of your own?

Q:
(2011-12-23 22:46:01)

A: yes. I bought my car when I was 18. A 2000 Honda Civic LX. Its name is the purple people eater

What kind of used car can you get for less than 8k?

Q: I am trying to get someone I care about a used car. She has to take a bus to her mom's to drop her baby off and another bus to work. I wanna make things easy for her, so I figured I get her a car. I took her last week to get her DL. I want to get her a used car that will hopefully not give her a hard time.

Thank you
One more question please: What's a good website to shop for used cars??
One more question please: What's a good website to shop for used cars??

A: KSL.com
Yahoo Motors
AutoTrader.com
Carmax.com

Typically cars that are older than 2002's are cheapest. Im looking for a used car too, that how I know! Nissan Maximas (any year) are great. ANYTHING Honda, because it will last forever with minimal repairs, and Toyotas are best. I hope this helps!

I'm 16. Should i get hyundai, mazda, honda, or toyota?

Q: I really like how the hyundai looks, but im not so sure about it. I don't really like toyota i hate how it looks but i've heard theyre really good cars. I'm really concern about the gas and have to be sure they don't break down easily. I can't decide, please help. Thankyou.
I want 4 doors and sedan type of car. Send me pictures, that'd be great (:

Review of Yamaha SZ-R?

Q: Hello, I am planning to buy a mid ranged daily using bike for my use. I have sorted between Honda Shine (125cc) and Yamaha SZ-R (153cc). I like Yamaha's Engine, but Shine's looks appeal me. Can you share your reviews on Yamaha SZ-R alone because, if I add 1000rs, I get a 153cc bike. But I am waiting to get good reviews about the bike. Please share your views! :)
(2011-12-22 05:22:48)

A: Yamaha SZR is a very good 150cc bike. U can definitely buy it, as its overall a better bike than Honda Shine.

Yamaha SZR has got the best low end torque among all 100-150cc bikes, so its the most suitable bike for city driving as u need only very less gearshifts. U can ride this bike in fifth gear at speeds of 30kmph is a clear indication of excellent driveability it offers. But after crossing 60kmph, it becomes much slower, but still it has got better top end performance than the Honda Shine. Top speed of SZR is 105kmph, while that of Shine is just 95kmph. Also Shine vibrates a lot and its engine becomes rough at high speeds. But no such issues with the SZR. Honda Shine's inital pick up and low end torque are also very good, but not as good as the SZR.

Honda Shine has got a narrow rear tyre, which affects its handling and comfort, while the handling, cornering and comfort of SZR is much much better than the Shine.

Regarding styling, both are good looking bikes, but Shine looks outdated, while SZR's styling is more contemporary. I personally like the styling of SZ R much more.

Both are reliable and durable bikes having smooth and refined engines.

Regarding mileage, SZR gives a very good mileage of 50-60kmpl. Shine being a 125cc bike gives a slightly better mileage of 55-65kmpl.

I have a 2005 350 Honda Rancher, eletric shift went out, help please?

Q: A few weeks ago my fourwheeler stopped shifting, it would be in a gear and start blinking about 10-20 seconds after I start my fourwheeler, and I have to turn it off. I found you can manually override it by taking an octagonel shift changer tool to a peice on the left by your foot(like a regular foot shifter) but it's hard as hell to shift gears, I can't ride it like that well.

My friend said there would be a switch by the engine block to allow primary shifting by foot instead of by hand.

Any inputs or suggestions? Thanks! P.S. it's really muddy, first time in like 4 months and I really wanna go mudding.

Who can help me to look up a Cabin Filter for a Honda Accord 2010 ?

Q: I like to know the make of the cabin filter and maker of the Cabin Filter for a 2010 Honda Accord
(2011-12-23 16:38:51)

A: You can just look up a replacement at autozone.com

If you need to know the manufacturer of the filters that Honda uses, go ask at the parts counter of the dealership.

Can you name some sporty cars?

Q: Can you name a few (like cheap ones)? I'm really looking forward to buying one. Doesn't really matter what kind it is, I'm just looking for suggestions. Please add images to!

Dodge Neon SRT4

2010 Honda Accord, or 2008 infiniti g35?

Q: Im looking to buy a preowned vehicle and I have narrowed my choices down to either a 2008 infiniti g35, or a 2010 honda accord. If anyone could give any advice on which to get or which vehicle offers what it would be greatly appreciated. Some pros and cons as well. I've done a lot of research myself and now I'm just looking for advice from others. Im looking to get the sedans, no coupe.
(2011-12-17 11:20:42)

A: Not true about Honda lasting longer. They are equally reliable. The Infinti uses the VQ35- which is rated as 1 of the top 10 best engines on the planet. the Accord is a great car but personally, I'd get the G35. It's more on par with the Acura TL; not the Honda Accord. Infinitis seem to have a lower resale value but they are as reliable as any Honda, Toyota or other Nissan. Think 350Z four door. Things to consider though: The Accord might be roomier inside and in trunk space. Also, the Accord will be more economical if you get the 4 cylinder model.

Can I re-lace my 81' Honda CM400's rear 16 inch rim, to a 19 inch?

Q: Or is there another rear wheel with spokes that will bolt right up?
Ok. I admit it might be a hassle, but it might be something I'm ok doing. The rear hub has 36 spokes. If i upgrade to the 19 inch rear wheel. couldn't I just swap the rear 12.5 inch shocks to 14 inch shocks to compensate?
(2011-12-20 16:00:04)

A: This is another one of those classic pondering questions. It can be done, but why?

I once wanted to jam a Sportster motor into a Honda dirt bike frame. A great friend handed me a beer, looked at both bikes, and said"Well, you really have come up with another of your great ideas. This however is one that is best left in the planning stages"

Now go drink a beer and polish your rims.

Is my clutch slipping?

Q: I have an '04 Civic EX, 5-speed manual, with about 119k miles on it. We bought it used with 116k. The clutch seems fine, it isn't loose, it goes into gear nicely. The issue is when I park in my driveway. I put it in first gear and shut it off and it gradually slides down the drive, almost like you can feel the teeth on the gears slowly sliding out of place and back in and out and in. The freaky thing about it is it only does it on my driveway, I have put it on steeper hills and had no issues. We have taken it in and they have said the clutch is fine take it home. Part of the issue is we bought a Honda from a Toyota dealer, they have said with everything that they don't know how to do it since it's a Honda. Any ideas??? Also, while I'm at it, my car rattles a lot. Maybe it's old age but are they notorious for things coming loose either in the engine or the cabin? I fixed a couple issues, but there seems to be a low rattle coming from the right bottom of the engine, like where the steering rod connects?? Any help would be much appreciated!!!
(2011-12-22 22:30:33)

A: Going by what you described it only screams change the clutch and flywheel assembly. the movement backwards is because of the on and off friction of the clutch plate with the flywheel because of the uneven wear. But because you also mentioned that the mechanics said there is no problem with the clutch im thinking they might have meant that the clutch springs are fine. Try takin it to a honda dealer and checking it. If it is still the same answer then change the brak pads and park it with the handbrake on.

Car Payment 38 Days Late and I called..?

Q: My car is financed through a small company. I called them this morning to let them know my status. That I wouldn't be able to pay until around January. He got upset and hung up the phone on me! I was so shocked because I've read stuff about them on certain websites but never experienced it until now. I have no idea what to do now. Any ideas?
(2011-12-22 08:27:37)

A: Well they can't repo your car if they can't find it, but with GPS in new cars, they can probably find it. I don't know the laws where you live, you would probably need a lawyer. Document the time and date you called and what happened. Also, if you have the other phone message, you should save that in case you end up in court. 38 days doesn't seem like much, but then if it is a small company I would imagine that you are not the only one not paying them this month, and he still has bills to pay too. I think I would vote with everyone else. Try to get the money from family and or friends and then pay them back when you get your taxes back. You have too many kids to be without a car, you just need it. I wonder if the in laws can help you, they are his kids too. I guess if you could pawn something you would have done that already. Ask your church for help. Churches will help with bills if you are a member of their church. Is there a different bill you could skip in order to pay this one. Ask your church what other charities could help you, maybe there is a different way to get money for help. You know this is probably a bad idea, but year end car sales usually have deals where you trade in your old car and buy a newer car and they will pay off your old car even if you are upside down on the loan. My ex husband did that. I think Honda had a deal like that. They want to get rid of the cars on the lot, and they had a deal during Christmas time to trade in the old car for a newer one and they either got a 1,500.00 incentive or they paid off the old note, it really depended, they had different options. I know getting a new car now seems like the stupid thing to do, but it might be a fix to a problem. Call your church.

Acura tsx 2006 help? .?

Q: is it good to buy a used car with 200,000 miles on it
(2011-12-16 19:31:17)

A: depends:
how the car was maintained and driven
how much is it
does the car have service records'
how many owners
I own a 06 6MT tsx since new. I have all the service done by a acura dealer-love the car after 131,000 miles.
Did you have the car checked out by either a acura dealer or trusted mechanic
How are the tires.

Did I change the spark plugs right?

Q: Earlier today, I replaced my 1997 acura rl spark plugs. I used the autolite brand as was told I didn't need to gap them because they come pre gapped. Not sure if that is true. After I replaced them, my car no rumbles slightly as well as sounds like shit when I am idling. What did I do wrong? I did them one by one. Do I need to adjust the idling screw or something? Do I redo it? HELP!!!!
And how do I know what plugs are best for my engine? How to I torque to 18ft???
(2011-12-16 19:41:24)

A: I don't know who would sell you Autolite spark plugs for an Acura but, these have NO place in an Acura! Especially the RL because these engines use a special plug, These systems use the spark plugs as a sensor for the Ion Sensing Ignition Module and if the incorrect plug is installed it will have all kinds of misfires!

ADDED: 13 foot lbs (18 newton meters) Torque! And there are only 2 approved plugs (According to Acura) for this engine are;
PFR5L-11 (NGK)
PK16PR-L11 (DENSO)

ADDED:@ The other poster, NO not the double platinum the -NGK LASER PLATINUM #PFR5L-11

HID light is legal in S california?

Q: i have a honda accord 01 with HID light blues
(2011-12-16 19:49:25)

A: It depends on the housing, projector housing? there are many cars on the road with HID headlights, some new cars come stock with HIDs, such as Audi, BMW, Acura, etc... It also depends on what temp your HIDs are, the 4300k produces the best lighting (looks yellow white), 5000k (looks bright white), 6000k (bluish white), 8000k (Very Blue), as you go up the temps it turns purple. Mostly 4300-6000k is okay!

How can I persuade my mom?

Q: My mom wants to buy a car, and my dad can't spend too much (more than $440/month). I want my mom to get an Audi, Mercedes, ect (luxury line car) (but no Acura or Lincoln). Either Audi or Mercedes.she also wants a suv. My mom is leading to honda's odyssey, but how can I navigate her away. Also the car cant be red. So my question is what make and model should she get (must be within budget-440/month)? And how can I persuade her not to get odyssey?

P.s. it also must be zero down payment
Thanks :)
(2011-12-20 11:30:56)

A: Show her the bmw x3, audi q5, and the mercedes glk vs. the odyssey online and show her how much better these luxury cars than a plain ole' honda for only a bit more money

My bike is xcd 125 (model 2007) giving less average please suggest me?

Q: From two month my bike is giving 30average.When it was new it was giving 60 to 70 average in local area.My mechanic suggest me to sale that bike. But i don't want sale, can you help me what i can do to increase the average of my bike.
(2011-12-19 23:05:46)

A: It should have given u atleast 50kmpl mileage, as bajaj bikes tend to have decrease in mileage after 2 or 3 years of use.
U should go to a bajaj authorised servicing centre, tell them abt ur problem and then ask them to reset the carburettor to original factory setting, if ever ur mechanic had tampered it.
After that ask them to check the following things.
1. Whether the airfilter is dusty or damaged, if then ask them to replace.
2. Check for any leakage of petrol from carburettor, fuel pipe, fuel tap or petrol tank. If there is leakage in any of these, then replace the particular part.
3. Always change engine oil after every 2000-3000kms. If u have not done it, ask them to replace engine oil.
4. Check the condition of tyres, chain sprocket, spark plugs and wheel bearings etc. If they are worn out, then replace them with newer ones. Clean the spark plugs if there is no need to replace them, in case u have replaced them recently.
5. Also check the tension of brakes, clutch and throttle and make sure that these are not overtight.
6. Check for any leakage in silencer. If it has leakage, then replace it.
7. Ask ur servicing guys to do the decarbonisation of cylinder and piston.

Doing these will hopefully increase the mileage of ur bike to 50-60kmpl, but u wont get 60-70kmpl mileage anymore....

If this pathetic situation continues after doing all these, then its better to sell or exchange ur bike and buy a bike of Honda make.

Question about Fruits Basket?

Q: It's been a LONG time since I've seen/read it, so this is probably why I don't know this...

Okay, so I've seen pictures of Kyo in cat form, Yuki in rat form, and Tohru in ??? form. What is tohru? A riceball? Is there a Japanese name for that kind of food? I think it was mentioned in the story, but I don't remember.
Is it called onigiri in the story?
(2011-12-21 18:02:46)

A: Onigiri

Edit: Well in Japanese she is called Onigiri but in English she is called a Riceball since thats what Onigiri is. In the manga Vol.1 ch. 6 the little boy says "Honda Tohru is a Riceball" and then later on Tohru says to herself "Ever since the start...The Riceball could simply never join...the fruits basket."

What should I name my new kitten?

Q: I just got a kitten yesterday and I am having a hard time coming up with a name. It is a little girl. She is tiny and a "tabico," both tabby and calico. She is very unique and I feel like her name should be a little feminine and unique. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What are some good tuner cars?

Q: Well I'm looking for a faster model coupe or hatchback. I'm staying away from
american but anything else I'm down for. I want something that drives well but with nice performance. Easy to find parts and also affordable. Help!!
(2011-12-21 12:32:04)

A: Ok...Faster model coupe or hatchback, drives well, nice performance, easy to find parts and affordable? There's only a couple cars that fit ALL those, but they don't fit the "non-american" part. Only the Mustang and Camaro fit all those requirements. Any other car will be missing 1 or more of the requirements.

Example.
Nissan 240SX, Honda Civic, Acura Integra, Mitsubishi Eclipse = coupes or hatchbacks, affordable, easy to find parts for. Too bad none of them have any performance and don't handle well.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subaru WRX STI = Fast, great performance, fairly easy to find parts, drives very well. Problem? Both are 4 door sedans and neither is affordable.

What applications is this type of oil used for?

Q: Superol gold SAE 30
(2011-12-21 14:10:32)

A: It is a standard single viscosity oil and is often used in heavy duty applications like in lawnmower engines where a multi-viscosity may not be needed. That said, my Honda mower does recommend 5W-30, but in warmer temperatures will use SAE 30.

By the way, not only is it only one viscosity, but it is also non-detergent oil... this is what, I believe, gives it the Heavy Duty moniker... it's heavy duty single viscosity oil and does not have detergents mixed in with it.

Hi All Thanking you for your help for bike, now after suggestion I am planing to buy Passion PRO?

Q: Hi ,
after your valuable suggestion now i am planning to buy HH Passion PRO ,so please frankly tells its advantages and Disadvantages and its not good suggest some other bike with same category expect bajaj and how is honda shine as compare to passion PRO.....

please prove u r valuable opinion ...

Thanks in anticipation
(2011-12-20 05:09:28)

A: Passion pro is a very good 100cc bike. It has got 7.8PS power and will give a mileage of 60-70kmpl.
U can definitely buy this bike if u like it.

Advantages:
Its engine is very refined, smooth and long lasting, which is known for giving the least maintenance.
The bike has got good amount of low end torque, driving in traffic and congested roads are easy.
It has got features like self start, disc brake and digital fuel guage.
Its a good looking bike.
Service support provided by Hero is the best in the country.
Its resale value is very good.

Disadvantages:
1. Its styling is outdated.
2. Its top end performance is not good, as bike has got a comparatively low top speed of just 85kmph. It looses out power, once it crosses 60kmph. It happens because its engine has been tuned for low end performance only. So if u are a person who loves high speed driving, its better to avoid Passion Pro.
3. Its handling & cornering abilities are not that great.
4. Its a bit pricey.

Honda Shine is a 125cc bike. Its also a very good bike which has got 10.5PS power and will give a mileage of 55-65kmpl. It is better than Passion Pro for performance, while its mileage will be a little lesser. The disadvantage of Honda Shine is that it comes with a narrow rear tyre, so it can affect the handling, control & comfort of the bike. But if u want, u can replace it with a Wider tyre.

U can also consider Hero Splendor NXG, which uses the same engine of Passion Pro, but will give better performance and mileage than Passion Pro, because its 6kgs lighter than Passion Pro. Its top speed is 90kmph and mileage is 70-80kmpl. Its 3,000/- Rupees more cheaper than Passion Pro. It doesnot have a front disc brake, but has alloywheels and self start.

My suggestion:
I would suggest u to go for Honda CB Twister which is the best 100-110cc bike in India. It has got a 109cc engine giving u 9.1PS power and mileage of 65-75kmpl, which is better than the Passion Pro. It will give u better performance (top speed: 95kmph) than Passion Pro. It has got modern styling and features like tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery, and viscous airfilter etc and u will get all these at just 2,000 Rs premium over the Passion Pro.

Guys tel me which is best bike for both long drive and looks in India for a budget of 1-2 Lacs!?

Q: Select any Bike of th range 1-2 lacks and pls provide your analysis
I'm looking for a long drive bike with stylish look!
as of now I'm in a confusion of CBR20, Yamaha R15, Apache 180RTR, Kareezma ZMR

Please Help me!
My height is about 5.4 inches! :)
(2011-12-20 02:55:31)

A: R15 and Apache 180 RTR are not very comfortable bikes for long drives as they have sporty riding postures causing back pain, so its better to rule these out of choices.

Now left are CBR 250R and Karizma ZMR. We may mistake CBR 250R as not a comfortable bike since its a sports bike, but its wrong. The riding posture of CBR 250R is not that of a true sports bike but of a sports tourer bike, as it is more upright to give riders a comfortable long distance riding. Since CBR 250R has got a more powerful engine than the ZMR, it will definitely help CBR 250R to reach much higher top speeds which aids in long drives. Also CBR 250R has got more stylish looks than the ZMR.

So definitely the bike to go for is Honda CBR 250R as its the best and the most suitable bike for u for both long drives and looks.
Another plus point about CBR 250R is its low seat height of just 780mm which is much lower than R15 and Karizma ZMR, so it will be much easier for u to control CBR 250R.

What is the best built car in the world?

Q: In your view which company makes the best built cars
Not in terms of speed!
Some great answers here.
(2011-12-20 12:30:19)

A: Honda!!

Where can i buy a sickass Vtec!!!!?

Q: Crx or a integra. I rather want a k20 on that shit!!!
(2011-12-14 13:46:33)

A: You seem to be one of those people that lets the Honda side down with your silly antics.

The CR-X and Integra don't come with K20s. You want an Acura RSX Type-S or a Honda S2000, with the K20A and F20/22C respectively.

Hi i have a question about center caps?

Q: Hi, i have a 2005 honda accord sedan with 2004 Infiniti g35 17 inch wheels. I want to know what is the size of the infiniti center cap because i want to replace it with a honda center cap. Thanks
(2011-12-14 17:03:43)

A: Honda center caps will only fit Honda wheels, perhaps Acura too.

cbr 600rr or gsxr 750?

Q: wich is better all round and wich do u think is better looking between 08 red black cbr 600 os 2011 all black gsxr 750
(2011-12-20 04:32:59)

A: If I had my choice it would be the 750.I have said this before and it kills me every time I do-cause I'm a Honda man-the gsxr 750 is one of the BEST all around sportbikes ever made.It gives you the best of all things-the same nimble, quick turning bike as the 600 on the street or track-the high rpm range-it has one of the best pulls after 6 gran in 3rd and 4th gear,it will hang with the 1000's up to 3rd gear, and it still is in the lower group of insurance costs compared to 1000's.The only reason I don't have one is because my son has had one and when I rode it I just did not like the angle and pitch of the handle bars compared to my 929....Color has nothing to do with how BAD ARSE a bike is.

Does it matter what kind of oil, antifreeze, and power steering liquid I use?

Q: I have a 2005 cadillac deville and was wondering does it actually matter what kind of brand or kind like synthetic oil?
Also i'm 16 so that is why i'm asking these question because i'n not really sure what kind of stuff to get
(2011-12-18 17:15:12)

A: The brand of the fluid manufacturer doesn't matter so much. The type of fluid does.
Oil: Quaker State is the "worst" on the market. That's why it doesn't "meet or exceed" any manufacturer standard. Anything else is acceptable.

Transmission Fluid: Anything on the label that says "Compatible" with "Dexron III" is acceptable. (Unless your car uses Dexron 6, check the writing on the dipstick for sure)

Power steering: There's not much on the market besides Honda and non-Honda. So anything non-Honda is acceptable. Do not use transmission fluid like Ford does though, it's too thin.

Antifreeze. Here's where I differ from GM's recommendation. I have seen too many problems with their Dex-cool. I instead, use and recommend Prestone All Makes, All Models, Extended life. It is compatible with Dex-cool, can be mixed or used instead of. It has all the lubrication and anti-rust, anti-foam additives as "Dex" without the nasty goo. It is a light green in color. Just remember tor purchase the Extended Life variety.

Synthetic Oil is different. It is designed not to break down, therefore has a longer life. Because engine wear still occurs the need to change engine oil on a regular intervals is necessary. The only drawback is increased occurrences of oil leaks is higher as opposed to conventional oil. In my opinion, stick to conventional oil and change the oil routinely.

where can I get a FREE Carfax report?

Q: I have already purchased my vehicle and am wondering if I can get a Carfax report. I am looking at the Carfax report in "search" and they mostly say "free", but it ends up costing to get this report. Is there truly one that IS free?? Where do I go to find it??
I know I can go to the dealer, but I am wondering about this at 5:48, in the morning!! :)
Thank you! I appreciate the info!!
I was just curious about this, when I discovered my driver's door looks like it has a little buckle in it. A friend suggested Carfax, so I thought I would try it!
Thanks for the replies!
(2011-12-14 03:48:52)

A: I doubt they are free anywhere unless the dealer has one, but I have zero faith in Carfax reports. The ones I have had were almost random - one insisted my daughter's car was originally a fleet car even though the seller turned over the contract from buying the car (the title agreed with the seller) and the Carfax report didn't mention the time the car was stolen and recovered. My son's Acura had a clean report even though the body parts in the front had wrecking yard markings on them. You can make up your own random report and be ahead of Carfax. Others have had worse problems with it - see the first source.

why are pretty much all of the 85cc dirtbikes 2 stroke?

Q: im jw
(2011-12-18 18:56:05)

A: For an equivalent bike in power you have to look at the crf150r. The 2 strokes traditionally were always the bikes that were available for mx racing and non of the 4 strokes in years past were of a standard to compete. Times have changed and so most riders above a junior level are seen racing 4 strokes. You won't see to many pros on a two stroke as they are not competitive in elite racing any longer. When honda developed the crf150r it was designed to race against the 85cc 2 stroke bikes but the ama decided in most cases to make it a separate class not to run with the 2 strokes so it sort of defeated the whole purpose of the bike. In some countries and some lower level racing the 150 does race the 85cc 2 strokes and they are very comparable. Yamaha had word out at the time of the production of the honda 150 that they had their own version in the works but it never ended up in production possibly due to the placement of the honda in a separate class to the 85cc bikes and so there really is not other options for the young riders other than the 2 strokes when stepping up a class as they grow or age and it is still much the same with the 65cc class as there is not a 4 stroke option.

Which would you get and why? : Kia Soul, Nissan Versa, Honda Fit, or Mazda 2?

Q: New car time! :)
So what exactly is wrong with the Soul? To be honest that's the one I liked the most..
(2011-12-18 20:45:57)

A: Honda Fit presents the best bang for your buck. The Soul is more powerful but the exterior is certainly polarising and Kia's rising reputation still can't outrun it's monumental depreciation value.

The Mazda 2 would be a close second mostly because of its great chassis and handling.

"The Japanese makers need to raise the bar on safety and reliability."

Hyundai has only started to lift its game on its reliability and safety within the past 3 years whereas the Japanese have been king of the hill in those respects since the 1980s.

I have a '92 Harley FXRP police bike?

Q: I'm getting ready to change the front fork oil. I have some Yamaha front fork oil left from a 750 Virago I had a long time ago. what is the difference in this oil and the front fork oil I can buy from Harley ? will the two oils be ok mixed together or not ?
(2011-12-19 14:03:15)

A: Best to get proper oil, risk of seal swelling from a additive too much hassle for road use. 20 weight non detergent straight mineral oil may work awhile- or Hydraulic oil about same viscosity, but a silicone based fork oil additive as used in some forks for air pressure seals can gum up in some other oils and plain seals may be damaged and leak- was what seemed to have happened on a Harley in local shop last year on one fork where drain plug had been removed while a flat tire repair on road was attempted- refill with some other japanese fork oil bottle that was handy- may have been Honda spec for the air pressured fork or might have been reverse was conclusion. Caused a noticeable minor handling problem and smear, shop was happy to fix at $75.00/hour, found 'gum' layer and worn seal.

I have just bought a secondhand nissan pick up truck and the radio needs a code number how do I get it?

Q:
(2011-12-18 01:08:45)

A: I had the same problem in a Honda and usually the dealers will hide the code somewhere in the car like for example mine was on the side of the glove compartment. Try looking inside or on the sides of the glove compartment door and under the center console lid.....if u goto the dearlership they will charge u to look up the code.....not to mention most dealerships don't even have the software to look at it now day's. Also there is usually a spot in the owners manual for the original owner to write down the code try looking there if u haven't

Chevy Equinox, Kia Sportage, or Honda Pilot....Which is better gas mileage? Has great reviews? Which would you?

Q: prefer? Interested in purchasing me a smaller truck..And I like all three..Just need to know the pros & cons of each one..
Thanks!
(2011-12-18 09:19:11)

A: Overall the chevy equinox is the best, a friend of mine just bought a honda pilot for his wife and an equinox for himself and the chevy is definitely a better vehicle

Advice on a first motorcycle?

Q: I'm thinking about getting a motorcycle come spring and commuting to the school I will be a summer student at (about 1 hour from my house). I will then take the bike out to my home school (in Washington DC) and ride it as my primary means of transportation there. I know not to get a real big bike at first, and of course wear a helmet and take the rider's safety class, but is this too big a challenge for a first-time rider? (Not exactly my first time, I've done a bit of dirt biking and 4-wheeling before) Also, could you recommend a bike?
(2011-12-18 18:13:12)

A: Well since your going to be doing some decent distance rides and your going to be using a bike as a primary means of transportation. It is not to big of a challenge at all anyone can handle any size or any style bike. It all just comes down to how comfterble you are with that particular bike. I've seen people start fresh permit and all on super bikes and race bikes like 1000's or 1098's but they were just comfterble with it. Me personally i wasn't comfterble with the bigger sized bikes so i started on a 250 that i ended up totaling but both honda and kawasaki make a 250 but i recommend the newer 250's if you were to buy one for kawasaki go from 2008 and up for honda they actually just came out with them the newer one's just have much nicer plastics that make it look like an actual sport bike instead of the older one's that are really ugly. I use to go to school 4 hours from my house and i ran my 08 250 on that 4 hour ride countless times i bought it new and put almost 22,000 on it so it ran extremely well. Also if anyone tells you that a 250 is to small then they're wrong anything that will do 100mph isn't small it just takes awhile longer to get to that speed lol and yes 250's do do 100 i had my odometer on my 250 hit 115 but always remeber just cuz the odometer on a motorcycle says your going 115 doesnt mean you really are motorcycle odometer's that read from the wheel arent to reliable so your probably doing like 100.

Bikes i would recommend are ninja 250, honda 250, ninja 650, sv1000, sv 650..stay away from sport bikes like a gsxr 750 or a cbr 600 for long rides and weather protection they're dreadful flying down the highway on a 2 hour ride with your back neck and arms killing you isn't fun that and sport bike seats make your butt go numb and hurt bad can even cause chaffing. So stick with 250's, sport touring bikes, regular touring like cruiser bikes, and stay AWAY FROM HARLEY's they're junk inside and out and super expensive all japanese bikes are extremley reliable compared to a harley. With harley your just buying a name really.

What is the fuel consumption of Honda CB400 Super Four?

Q: I am planing on buying one, what is the average fuel consumption of this motorcycle?. Some says 22Kilometers per liter. Anyone know?
(2011-12-19 02:02:16)

A: depending on the acceleration gripping or running speed, if your speed is around 60-80kph that's 22kilometers/liter but if your speed is from 110-150 or more that's more or less 18 kilometers/liter base on my experienced...I have HONDA SUPER FOUR PB1 2003 MODEL...Since it's a touring bike NO BACK PAIN problem especially for those 40 above of age like me.

The Integra? What brand is it Honda or Acura?

Q: I have a Honda Integra( no clue what year). I always thought that they were all Hondas but, My friend has an Acura Integra. I've heard they were the same thing. So what's the deal? Don't insult me I am not a car addict.
I know that Acura is made by Honda.

@ Smartypants- There is a such thing as a Honda Integra obviously since I, and a whole auto club, own them.
It is a HONDA INTEGRA not and Acura. Everything I own on it says HONDA. I am not going by the engine I am going by the car. It the Honda trademark H on the front and back. I know that they are a discontinued car. I just want to know why I see both Honda integras and Acura Integras
(2011-12-18 11:41:44)

A: Wow for a bunch of car people these people don't know squat. The Integra was manufactured by both Honda and Acura. Kind of like the how there is a Dodge Neon and a Plymouth Neon. Plymouth is made by Dodge and the cars were manufactured under each name. You can have a Honda Integra or an Acura Integra. There IS such a thing as a Honda Integra.

I have 2 questions about a 3rd generation Mitsubishi Eclipse?

Q: Well first off I am planning on getting a 3rd generation eclipse, but I am getting it in about 3 years so it will be like 10+ old by the time I get it.
Here is the first question: What good engine car i put in it? I am going to bump it up to 350-500 HP. For example, many Honda drivers get a Vtec engine for there civic. What great engine can I get for "my" eclipse?
Second question : Well the last (2005) 3rd gen eclipse was made about 7 years ago. Cars that old have horrible gas mileage compared to modern cars. So my question is, how can I improve gas mileage money-wise? For example, fuel management systems. How much would those help and how much do they cost ? Thank you for reading and helping (answering).
(2011-12-18 20:18:49)

A: Well Answers:

First Answer: You dont need to put any engine in it. Honda's come standard with Vtec so if you want more power, you'll have to do some mechanical things like turbochargers, air intake and etc which you can go to any Auto Tuners or Modifying group to get quotes on it. Plus, there engines are all usually SOHC and the engines available for 3rd Gens Are:
147 hp 2.4 L 16-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 4G64 engine
147 hp 2.4 L 16-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 4G64 engine
200 - 205 hp 3.0 L 24-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 6G72 engine
210 hp 3.0 L 24-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 6G72 engine with Mitsubishi Variable Induction Management (MVIM)
210 hp 3.0 L 24-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 6G72 engine with MVIM

The Second answer:
They were all either 4 cylinders or V6 Eclipse's back then so either way your looking around at 20 - 35 mpg's. If you want to upgrade the FMS, thats upto to you but will cost a good fortune but good for tuning the car if your planning to make it into a High Output Street Racer.

So overall, the main point is, dont worry about engine size or replacments and FMS upgrades. Itll keep you green. :D

how do i set up bluetooth in 2006 Acura Tl?

Q: i just got a 06' Acura TL and it saies and has the buttons for bluetooth i was wondering how to set it up thanks!
(2011-12-12 19:56:49)

A: does your car have the manuals that came with the vehicle? If yes, the instructions are in one of those.

you will need your cell phone handy and ready to put in pairing mode first.

you will also have to learn to use the handsfreek link keys which are the ones located behind the ones that have the phone keys on the steering wheel on the left hand side.

you must does these steps while the car is in park. the vehicle can not be in motion while doing this.

first thing you will do is hit the button and say "phone set-up". it will the give you a list of options o what you can do in phone set-up. things like address book, etc. the one you will want is pair. So hit the button and say "PAIR". it will tell you something about not being able to do this while in motion. press the button again and say a 4 digit pass code. just a number you will remember.

at that point the car goes into discovery mode. you will then have to put your phone into discovery mode. once your phone finds the car, it will ask you for the four digit number that you spoke to the car enter that. pairing should be complete. it will ask you to name the phone. Press the button and say a name.

that's it. here's the link to the acura handsfree link page in case you need more info.
